If your child has lost something or left it on the bus, please ask them to speak with the bus driver in the first instance, the buses tend to leave lost property on the bus for a time. If this is not possible, they (or the parent if they are under 12 years) must contact the bus operator. This is First Buses (0345 646 0707).
Or see the Metro website section here.
If the Academy is closed due to extreme weather, please do not send your child to school.
This will be communicated via MCAS/email the same as all other communications from school, and will also be published on the school website home page, and the Bradford School closure list.
If the Academy is having to open late, i.e. 10:30am, please make alternative arrangements for travel unless specifically told that the bus will run. Contact the school absence line on 01274089900 if you need advice.
You can check bus times via the timetables below, or by visiting the First Bus website.
You can also download the First Bus app here.
Apply for a bus pass or a place on a school bus here.
Please see here for bus pricing. If you feel you may be entitled to or benefit from a bus pass, please see the above point about passes.
Please see this section of the Metro website to learn about disability and transport via school buses.
Safety and safeguarding children is the top priority of Dixons Cottingley Academy, and the bus companies that provide services to the school.
There is a whole section here dedicated to the Metro bus code of conduct, students that do not follow this code of conduct can:
- Have their pass withdrawn.
- Be banned from the bus.
- Be prosecuted by the police.
- Be required to pay for any damage they have caused.
If you feel unsafe or want to give feedback regarding the bus services, Metro have a Bus safety feedback tool to use here. Please also inform the Academy on 01274089900 if your child has been victim to any inappropriate or abusive behaviours whilst on the bus or waiting for the bus.
